This exercise showcases the capabilities of this powerful open-source AI-generation software and its implications for artistic work in the near future, especially in webcomics, animation or illustrations.
Each panel is accompanied by a prompt. You’ll also find extra details regarding checkpoints and parameters at the end.
The premise is to show that even a simple but well-thought-out workflow can quickly produce fantastic results and a solid consistency. No inpainting, postprocessing, or complex ComfyUI modules have been applied, not even LoRAs. Each panel is based on a single, uncomplicated prompt, with about a dozen outputs each to choose the best result.

Here are the workflow tips and suggestions for those who want to make similar webcomics in this style.
- Checkpoint: Anime XL (Anime Mix), based on SDXL

- I came up with the story myself and didn’t need any help, but you could integrate LLM into your workflows to get captions, even based on the outputs, or to expand on your ideas. ChatGPT is not viable for love stories. It gets offended at any mention of sex, because intimacy can be “disrespectful” and “abusive.” It’s the same reason you couldn’t make these outputs in Midjourney or Adobe Firefly. Both services don’t even let you specify body type in detail. The constraints seem to be only tightening, but there are no such limitations in open-source solutions. I suggest Airoboros70b, which handles NSFW content well. You can deploy Airoboros via Deepinfra, HuggingFace, or a similar service with fast ML inference and hosted API.
